An Orangutan or its scientific name Pongo pygmaeus is the only mammal found on the islands of Borneo and Sumatra. Orangutan give a birth about once in 7 years, pregnancy is about 8 to 9 months. This Mammalian DNA is 97 percent similar to human DNA . In Peninsular Malaysia , the only conservation centre is located in Orang Utan Island at Bukit Merah , Perak. The Bukit Merah Orang Utan Island Foundation are given to responsibility to protect the survival of Orangutans. Every born of Orangutan will be monitored and given a proper treatment. Before being released into the wild, Infant Orangutan aged 1 to 3 years will be placed in the nursery. Hang Li Po , aged 1 year 6 months is the youngest son of the Orang Utan island . They are monitored and placed into the nursery with his other infant Orangutans. In the nursery , they are trained to be independent as finding food and nest before they are released to the real habitat .
